Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been a photographer? How did you get into it?

I started as a hobby photographer when I was 15. When I began taking classes at my local technical center for Interactive Multimedia, I really fell in love with all aspects of capturing landscapes and architecture photos. When I graduated in 2010, I chose to put my dream of working in a studio on the backburner. I always felt like something was missing in my life. When I had my first child, I decided to document every aspect of his life with my phone camera and I did that for 12 years. When I met my husband in 2016, I told him my dream of being a photographer and having my own business. He always encouraged me to follow my dream and do what makes me happy, and in 2019 he bought me my first camera. I got a job working for JcPenney Portraits and when Covid hit, I was able to continue taking pictures, and I have been actively photographing weddings, engagements, and newborns since.

What services do you offer?

I offer photography services for weddings, elopements, engagements, senior/grad photos, maternity/newborn sessions and family photography. All sessions are on-location of your choice, and my work is created by natural outdoor lighting rather than an indoor studio. If you have an idea or vision that is not listed here contact me today and I would love you hear what you have in mind!

I've never had my photo taken - What do I do with my hands?!

Belive me, even I feel awkward in front of my camera sometimes! My guess is that you do not have professional modeling experience on your resume, and you certainly don't need to in order to have great photos taken. I don't like the word "posing" because often what comes to mind is those third-grade photos with your palms framing your face as you grin up at the camera (you may or may not be wearing a pink scrunchie in these photos)

However, I will help guide you to some natural positions that will look great in photos. I encourage you to interact with your partner or family members as much as possible. I encourage movement, dancing, hugs, and twirling. My goal is for you to have fun, be interactive with your loved ones, and capture awesome photos.

Where do you do your photography? Are you able to travel?

I do strictly outdoor photography. I do not have a dedicated studio. I am willing to travel within a 150 mile radius from Hermitage Pennsylvania. If you need more information, feel free to send an inquiry email to info@keyphotography.xyz

What if there is incliment weather for our scheduled session?

Pennsylvania and Ohio has weather that may not work in our favor. The best way to combat this is to be prepared. For weddings, have a back-up location for your ceremony or a tent in case of rain, provide umbrellas, and if nothing else, just roll with the punches! Umbrellas can make for some fun photos, even if it is a little drizzly outside. For all other sessions, if you prefer to reschedule for another day please reach out and let me know what day you prefer.

How long is the turn around for our gallery?

Weddings: Standard turnaround time for delivery of your photos is 60 days after the event date. However, depending on the time of year, it may be sooner. "Sneak Peeks" take 24-48 hours so you can share with family and friends right away.

All other sessions have a turn around of two weeks to be delivered to you. I do not offer "sneak peek" photos for these sessions.

Do you provide the original unedited RAW image files?

The images in your gallery will be edited to improve lighting, contrast, sharpness, and color — all of which is a standard process for digital photographers. Therefore, I do not provide the unedited RAW images.

Do you watermark your photos?

No! I believe that you do not have to pay extra for me to remove your images. Your sneak peek photos may have a watermark, but once final payment is processed, those images will be watermark free and you can print and use those images how you prefer.

Will I have full ownership to the photos?

Yes, once delivered, you have the rights to do whatever you would like with the photographs. I do, however, ask for credit by name for any businesses that use my work for any public or marketing purposes.

How many photos will I get?

How many photos you receive will depend on various factors, guest count, coverage duration, event nature, etc. For weddings, I will edit as many images that you like, but for smaller sessions like senior or maternity sessions, I only edit 20 of your favorites.

Do you offer prints?

I do not offer prints. I do however allow you to print your images from any retailer or I do have resources that I prefer when I print my own personal images (mpix.com).

How do you deliver your images?

I deliver my images digitally. I post them to your private gallery where you are able to download them, but if you prefer them to be on a USB drive, I can send you one for an additional fee.

How long will our session take?

Each session with the exception of wedding photography takes an hour to an hour and a half.

What if I need to reshedule?

Please send an email to info@keyphotography.xyz at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule so I can get you scheduled for another day. If you need to reschedule, you will not have to pay another deposit.

Where are you located?

We are located in Hermitage Pennsylvania, and service Western Pennsylvania, and Eastern Ohio.
